Polanski free, Swiss reject US extradition request. Was there much doubt?

First I must apologize to those followers who have been watching for my latest update to my blog.  There was some website difficulties and it was not until recent that I could again access my blog to make any postings.  With that said here is my next entry.

This is a followup to an old posting in my blog about Roman Polanski.  The Swiss government today rejected the United States request to extradite him due to the refusal of the United States to produce and share documents about Polanski's sentencing procedure in 1977-1978.  Duh...and one could see why such refusal if you read my first blog entry...the judge reneged on his original ruling and now they want to go back and have a big do over!
Now don't get me wrong here.  I am not defending or making justification for Roman Polanski's past behaviors with underage girls.  But fair is fair and our justice system must be held accountable for it's actions.  Once a ruling or judgement is made there are no "do overs".  I commend the Swiss government in their actions today in making the United States take responsibility for their actions.
